YES, we need dedicated people to help make this logistically challenging event a success!
Our team of volunteers has been exceptional. In fact, they have demonstrated as much or more teamwork, problem solving skills, dedication, and perseverance to accomplish a common goal as the competitors have. They too have struggled through harsh weather conditions, rugged terrain and long hours. And like the athletes, they have all pushed themselves to the limit for the adventure and camaraderie of it.
Volunteering for an event is an excellent way to meet other like minded people as well as gaining skills and experience that can help meet occupational objectives.
We need enthusiastic volunteers for the following areas:

- First aid and wilderness first aid attendants
- Search and rescue professionals
- Experienced mountain bikers
- Course marshals
- Motorized watercraft (kayak safety)
- Massage therapists
- 4X4 vehicles
- Clerical support
- Timing personnel
- Photographers/videographers
- Media relations
- Competitor relations
- Marketing
- Brochure distribution

Volunteer Coordinators
We are always recruiting for a committee of volunteer coordinators for the various departments of the race. These positions entail more of a commitment than just on race day. A coordinator typically will manage 10 - 20 volunteers in their department (e.g. Trek stage, mountain bike stage, etc). Your role in this responsible position as captain of your team of 'adventure volunteers' is to co-author and execute a detailed logistical plan for the race weekend. You will be a liaison between your team of volunteers, search and rescue personnel and s2s race officials.
This is a great opportunity to exercise and gain valuable organizational and managerial skills. This can be a rewarding project to be a part of and it is not all work either!!!! The idea is that you are to have fun too. The volunteer coordinator committee members are treated to an overnight kayak camping trip (a much anticipated second annual event in itself this summer) as well as some cool s2s swag, kayaking privileges, and discounts on gear.
